The journey began in September 2025 at VCU's School of Business, where 17 marketing students developed RVATourism.com — a tourism platform for Carytown. Developed under the mentorship of Butch M. Sarma, the project showed how community storytelling could create real-world impact.
As the semester ended, three students — Sandeep Choudhary, Shree Maharjan, and Aman Suhail — proposed taking the concept beyond the classroom. The vision was refined and built by Sandeep into what became RichmondPix — a free, community-driven photography platform where anyone can document Richmond through their own lens.
Our mission: empower people to explore, discover, and share Richmond — combining photography community with authentic local knowledge.
